Letter: Amalgamation is needed

I agree with those that have written that we need to amalgamate.

I am a senior and have lived in Victoria since 1938. The money that is spent on mayors and councils is costing taxpayers too much. We also need one police force for all of Greater Victoria. Most crimes are in Victoria proper and the Victoria taxpayers foot the bill for the police, although we are getting more crimes in the western communities for instance, but they are covered mainly by the West Shore RCMP.

I would like to add a huge thank you to police, firefighters and paramedics.
