Keep JDF lands intact for future

I applaud some former letters regarding the Juan de Fuca trail, our forest lands and development.

I am a senior — I pay a hiker user fee and a parking fee when I want to enjoy the wild West Coast trails, and when I cannot hike them anymore, I will pay a parking fee and enjoy the beaches that are easily accessible, such as French, China, Sombreo and Botanical (as my mother did into her 90s).

My family are pioneers of this West Coast, settling here in the 19th century.

I hope my grandchildren and those that come behind them get to really enjoy what I have been lucky enough to grow up with.

Development along West Coast Road with beach access would be a travesty.
