Fire hall vote prompts new questions

Safety building exercise should spark debate over precinct

View Royal’s public safety building decision should be regarded as a healthful exercise.

It exposed some divisions, compelled the corporate town to communicate and to listen, and again demonstrated apathy: a one-third turnout for a significant money vote.

How may we build from that?

The town’s strategic plan calls for economic development.

Reliable fire protection will draw business, so let’s get on with it —  including provision for an adequate police precinct.  We’re a long way from the Langford RCMP detachment.
