I am very concerned to have read the letter in the Wednesday, May 16 Goldstream News Gazette (Re: “More information needed for fire hall”) regarding View Royal’s financial situation and future property tax implications. As a new resident to View Royal, I am surprised at what are already extremely high property taxes for here. Is it too small a municipality to cope on its own? Perhaps View Royal would be more efficient and effective as part of Langford or Saanich. Is it time for View Royal to send a survey to its residents to decide what may serve the municipality best, before 2012 property taxes sky-rocket?
