Lighting the whole of the Galloping Goose Trail is likely not going to happen because, in a word: cost.
As a cyclist, I would welcome lights either side of the road where the trail crosses at non-vehicle controlled intersections, but I know that is unlikely to happen, either.
A simpler and far cheaper way to enhance safety on the trail would be the cutting back and elimination of the brush along the sides: no need to cut down the mature trees, just the brush and the scrub and the brambles that have grown up. Since railway companies no longer maintain the right of way, the forest has grown too close to the edge of the trail.
