Canadian politics as SCTV skit

For those that remember SCTV, it occurred to me last night that we are living out an SCTV skit on Canadian politics.

Think about it: we have Ed Grimley as Prime Minister, Earl Camembert as the Opposition leader, the Schmenge Brothers as Jack Layton and Gilles, Duceppe and Edith Prickley as the Green leader, Elizabeth May.

What do you think?
