Jul 30, 1957 – Feb 28, 2018
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Chris, a beloved son, husband, and brother, after losing his courageous battle with brain cancer.
Predeceased by his father William, Chris will be forever remembered by his mother, Jocelyn; wife, Donna; his siblings, Jim (Eleonora), Pam (Jim), Kim (Moody) and Patrick (Matt); and extended family and friends from Newfoundland to BC and Bermuda to California.
Born in Ottawa, Ontario, Chris loved exploring the world. At an early age left home and joined the military where he proudly served in the Royal Canadian Navy for 21 years traveling land and sea in logistics. He retired, returned to school and looked to the sky becoming a flight dispatcher with WestJet. Retiring a second time gave him a new opportunity to finish his career by being a base manager on land in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
A special thank you to the nurses and doctors at the palliative care unit, Saanich Peninsula Hospital.
A Celebration of Chris’s Life will be held later in the summer with a small gathering of family and friends. Date to be announced.
