West Shore RCMP seeks suspect in coffee-throwing incident in Langford

Man barred from service Jan. 12 returned next day, threw coffee at staffer after brief conversation

West Shore RCMP is seeking the public’s help identifying an individual in the wake of two incidents that occurred at a Langford coffee shop.

RCMP were told an individual barred Jan. 12 from the Tim Hortons at 845 Goldstream Ave. returned Jan. 13. The person was originally denied service for refusing to wear a mask and being belligerent with staff, according to a news release.

On Jan. 13 the individual returned with a cup of coffee previously purchased in the drive-thru. When the employee advised the suspect he was denied service based on his previous incident, staff say the person threw a cup of coffee at the employee then left.

The staff member did not report any injuries.

Anyone with information about the incident or the identity of the suspect is requested to contact the West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.
