West Shore RCMP officers had their hands full over the weekend. The local detachment responded to 170 calls for service from Friday to Sunday. Calls ranged from recovering stolen vehicles, impaired drivers, a lost hiker (found safe and sound), and a handful of public intoxication incidents.

On an average weekend, the department usually responds to roughly 140 calls for service. While a number of factors can effect the number of files from day to day, spring break is one factor credited for the increase last weekend.

No major injuries were reported from the weekend.
