Vehicle rolls over during 'tricky' West Shore road conditions

No major injuries were reported after a vehicle rollover early Friday morning on Latoria Road

No major injuries were reported after a vehicle rollover early Friday morning amid what Colwood Fire Chief John Cassidy called "tricky" driving conditions.

The incident was originally reported to be near the intersection of Latoria Road and Veterans Memorial Parkway, but an arriving party that included a rescue truck, fire engine and a command vehicle, as well as police and ambulance, failed to turn up any results. The original call came from a cell phone and the caller was unsure of the exact location of the crash.

The search was widened and the vehicle in question was located at the intersection of Latoria and Pritchard Creek in Langford.

The three occupants had already exited the vehicle by the time crews arrived. They were checked for injuries and taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.

Winter road conditions are expected to continue off and on over the next several days.

"The fire department wants to remind all drivers that tires should be rated for the winter driving conditions and to adjust travel speeds accordingly," Cassidy stated.
