Suspected drug dealers hop pond to sell in Victoria

Two men from mainland busted on Wednesday with one other

Local cops busted three out-of-towners they accuse of selling drugs in Victoria.

Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team officers surrounded a vehicle parked in the 500-block of Pandora Ave. at 11 p.m. Wednesday, in the culmination of a week-long investigation.

Inside were three men who were arrested – two 20-year-olds from the Lower Mainland and an 18-year-old who hails from Courtenay.

As part of that investigation, officers also searched a suite in the same block, armed with a warrant. Inside, police say, they found a large amount of cash, drugs and drug-dealing equipment.

“Our community expects us to target these individuals and do whatever it takes to prevent these criminals from setting up in our town,” said street crime unit officer Const. Harvey Stevenson.

“We know when criminals come into our town and it is investigations like this that prove our effectiveness in shutting them down.”

All three men could be charged with trafficking. As well, the two men from the Lower Mainland might each be charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and the younger man could be charged with a third count for trafficking.

As police sift through the seized materials, they are also considering more charges against the men.

Const. Mike Russell added VicPD will share the information from these arrests with police organizations on the Lower Mainland.

Anyone who sees suspicious activity can call VicPD’s tip line at 250-995-7654.
