Saanich ratifies deal with public workers

CUPE workers agree to increase of 1.75% in first year and 2% over the next three years

The District of Saanich, the Saanich Police Board and Canadian Union of Public Employees Local 2011 have ratified a new four-year collective agreement for the period of Jan. 1, 2016 to Dec. 31, 2019.

Terms of the agreement include wage increases of 1.75 per cent in the first year and two per cent in each of the following three years.

The agreement was ratified by CUPE Local 2011 Nov. 22 and by the District of Saanich at the Nov. 27 council meeting. CUPE Local 2011 represents 1,234 members employed at Saanich.
