Police released these security camera images of the man who robbed CIBC in Colwood Saturday.

West Shore RCMP are continuing to seek public assistance in identifying the man who robbed the Colwood CIBC at gun point on April 9.

The male suspect is described as white, six-feet tall, aged 50 to 60 with a slim build and white trimmed beard or goatee. He was wearing jeans, a black hoodie with red selves, and pulled a red balaclava over his face during the crime.

At 10:30 a.m., April 9, he entered the CIBC bank at 310 Goldstream Ave. in Juan de Fuca Centre plaza and demanded tellers fill a black cloth shopping bag with bills, and once receiving the cash he left on foot toward Island Highway. Someone of a similar description also robbed the same bank with a gun on March 2, but no suspect was found.

“We feel that it is very likely someone ... may have witnessed some or all of the robbery or the suspect leaving,” West Shore RCMP Cpl. Kathy Rochlitz said in a media release. “We are asking that anyone who saw someone matching this physical description or clothing description, to please call us.”

If anyone has information regarding this crime or the identity of the suspect are asked to call West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
