RCMP on the lookout for suspicious photographer

Suspect has been allegedly using cell phone to photograph children between the ages of seven and 13

West Shore RCMP are currently investigating a series of suspicious encounters with a male in his early 20s, taking photographs of children between the ages of seven and 13 utilizing a cellular telephone in the Langford/Colwood area. The encounters occurred between Nov. 18, 2014 and Jan. 3, 2015.

From all of the occurrences the man has been described as Caucasian, approximately 20 years of age with a goatee or scruffy facial hair, wearing hoodies, ball caps, baggie jeans, skater shoes and having a cellphone.

At this time, West Shore RCMP have not been able to confirm that these are the actions of one individual.

West Shore Detachment School Liaison Officers and School District 62 have been in continual communication to ensure information is being shared.

Cst. Alex BERUBE, spokesperson of the West Shore RCMP says the police strongly encourage the public to contact the police right away in these types of incidents. By doing so, we can respond accordingly in order to locate and identify any suspects.
