Perceived abduction in Langford actually a medical emergency

Woman said to be screaming as she was pulled into a vehicle in mall parking lot

An apparent abduction of a woman in the parking lot of Millstream Village in Langford has turned out to be a case of someone in medical distress.

At around 1:50 p.m. Friday, West Shore RCMP received report of a woman screaming for help as she was being pulled into an older model Honda Accord. After an intensive search, officers located the car and the two occupants, including the woman, and determined there had been no abduction and that the woman was in need of medical assistance.

“We are grateful that the person reporting this was genuinely concerned for this woman’s safety, says West Shore RCMP Const. Alex Berube.
