Man injured in morning truck crash on Sooke Road

Pickup goes off road, flips into ditch in Metchosin

A 24-year-old Sooke man was transported to hospital Tuesday morning after his pickup truck left Sooke Road in Metchosin and flipped into a ditch.

West Shore RCMP responded at around 10:37 a.m. to the 4100 block of Sooke Rd., after getting a report that a black Dodge Ram had overturned. Police, B.C. Ambulance and Metchosin firefighters attended and found the lone occupant of the truck suffering from significant injuries.

The driver was taken to hospital to be treated for serious, but non-life threatening injuries. It was unknown how long the vehicle had been off the road.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact West Shore RCMP at 250-474-2264.
