Langford Lake swimming advisory

City advising people to stay out of lake, keep pets from drinking lake water

Blue-green algae blooms have been spotted around Langford Lake. As such, the City of Langford website is advising people and animals not to wade or swim in water containing a visible bloom.

While Langford Lake is currently the only lake to note the blooms, the public is asked to exercise caution before entering any other lakes in the area, as such algae growth can occasionally occur in lakes ponds and wetlands.
