It’s Election Day in Colwood: Here’s everything you need to know

1 mayor, 6 councillors and 4 school board trustees to elect

It’s election day in Colwood with polls open from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.

Candidates:

Doug Kobayashi is challenging Rob Martin in the mayoral race with 10 candidates running for six councillor positions. Those candidates include Cynthia Day, David Grove, Dean Jantzen, Kim Jordison, Steven MacAskill, Kim Mohns, Misty Olsen, Stewart Parkinson, Sacha Veelbehr and Ian Ward.

There are seven school trustee positions in the Sooke School District (SD62). Four trustee seats will be filled from Belmont Zone Area 1 (Colwood, Langford, Metchosin and Highlands) with three coming from Milnes Landing Zone Area 2 (Sooke and Port Renfrew).

There are seven candidates vying for four Area 1 seats. They include Cendra Beaton, Mary P Brooke, Russ Chipps, Dominique Jacobs, Christine Lervold, Ravi Parmar and Trudy Spiller.

How to vote:

Polls are open to Colwood residents at city hall, 3300 Wishart Rd., from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m.
