If the blue box on your boulevard is still full at 9 p.m. in the Capital Regional District, it’s time to bring it in and wait two weeks.
As winter weather pounds the region with snow and freezing rain, recycling is piling up in some Greater Victoria neighbourhoods.
The onset of winter weather has impacted recycling pickup since Dec. 27. All routes were cancelled on Dec. 28 and Dec. 30 and on other days certain routes were missed because of icy roads and winter weather.
If recycling isn’t picked up by 9 p.m. on the scheduled day, the CRD asks residents to bring it in until the next scheduled collection day.

Curbside pickup has been cancelled a handful of times across the CRD, with slippery conditions making things too slick for crews to be on the road.
Recyclables should be at the curb by 7:30 a.m. on the household’s scheduled collection day with at least one CRD blue box or blue bag to signal the driver for pickup. There is no need to register.
There is no limit on how much recycling a household can put out, and collection contractors are prepared for high post-Christmas volumes in coming weeks.
In Oak Bay, residents can also drop off recycling at the municipal transfer station, 1771 Elgin Rd.
