Goldstream fountain going pink to highlight cancer run

This Saturday, the fountain in the roundabout on Goldstream Avenue and Bryn Maur Road will be launching pink water into the air.

This Saturday, the fountain in the roundabout on Goldstream Avenue and Bryn Maur Road will be launching pink water into the air.

The colour change on June 25 is to bring awareness for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation’s CIBC Run for the Cure on Oct. 2.

With only 100 days until the annual breast cancer fundraiser, volunteers will be near the fountain from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. promoting the run for the cure.

“We are very pleased Langford council has allowed us to do this,” said Tracy Ryan, regional manager, Vancouver Island for CBCF. “We have a great group of volunteers who are going to be making a fuss in Langford.”

A non toxic, environmentally friendly die, will turn the water pink.
