A five-car crash that impeded traffic on the Pat Bay Highway on Monday night sent two to hospital.

Sidney and North Saanich RCMP were called to the crash Feb. 25 around 6:50 p.m.

Five vehicles were involved and two people were taken to Saanich Peninsula Hospital by ambulance as a precaution. There were no serious injuries reported. The RCMP say speed and alcohol are not believed to be involved.

The incident happened southbound, just north of Sidney, and the highway was closed for about 10 minutes while glass was cleared away.
