A student-led all-candidates meeting at Pearson College UWC in Metchosin on Tuesday night truly did attract all of the candidates in the Esquimalt-Metchosin riding.

Moderated by Pearson student Tazi Rodrigues, the event saw the six candidates answer questions from an audience mix of more than 100 constituency residents and international students. The queries ranged from local concerns about preserving land for agriculture and wildlife, to cross-province issues such as LNG and the Site C dam.

Participants included Barb Desjardins (BC Liberal Party), Mitzi Dean (NDP), Tyson Riel Strandlund (Communist Party of BC), Josh Steffler (BC Libertarian Party), Delmar Martay (Independent) and Andy MacKinnon (Green Party of B.C.).

The forum came one day after Royal Colwood Golf Club hosted a candidates meet-and-greet sponsored jointly by Esquimalt and West Shore chambers of commerce.
