Dive team searches Colwood Lake for missing vehicle occupant

Witnesses unable to free occupant, but vehicle unoccupied upon recovery by fire services

The RCMP Underwater Recovery Team is currently searching Colwood Lake for potential victims after Colwood and View Royal Fire Departments along with BC Ambulance recovered a submerged Hyundai Elantra this morning.

According to the RCMP release, witnesses spotted the vehicle floating in the lake and jumped in to rescue the driver of the vehicle, but were unable to do so, but the vehicle was unoccupied upon its recovery.

Police have now determined with the owner of the vehicle that it was stolen.
