The Capital Regional District is advising swimmers and paddlers to be aware of potential hazards at Thetis Lake Regional Park, given the low water levels in Upper and Lower Thetis lakes.
Underwater objects will be closer to the surface as a result and may affect swimmers' safety.
The lower water levels are partly due to the CRD's increased release of water from Thetis Lake into Craigflower Creek to improve fish habitat. The move is part of the Craigflower Flow Enhancement Project, aimed at restoring summer coho and cutthroat salmon habitat.
