The road through Mount Douglas Park was closed much of Friday morning after a single vehicle crash.

Traffic was rerouted after a driver had a medical issue and drove off Cedar Hill Road into a hydro pole just after 9 a.m.

The crash was enough to dislodge hydro lines, said Saanich Police Const. Colby MacIntyre.

“The roadway was closed for safety reasons. Emergency services attended, the power was disconnected. The driver was taken to hospital for additional medical attention. The hydro lines were repaired and the road was reopened.”
