Colwood and View Royal fire departments arrived to a fire on Belmont Road, March 16 at 12:23 a.m.

The fire was contained to a lower suite in a two storey apartment complex in the 300 block of Belmont Road. No one was in the suite at the time and the rest of the building was evacuated.  Once the fire was out all residents in the lower level of the building stayed in a hotel due to soot and smoke.

The extend of the damage and the cause of the fire are still unknown. West Shore RCMP and Colwood Fire Department are investigating. RCMP are asking for anyone with information to call the detachment at 250-474-2264.
