Witnesses saw older couple escorted away following crash

Witnesses saw an older couple escorted from the scene for precautionary reasons after one of them drove their sedan over a concrete barrier in the Shelbourne Plaza parking lot and into a pillar in front of Hart Pharmacy IDA.

The pillar is believed to be non-load bearing and supports an overhead cover for the mall’s walkway.

The vehicle was parked when the driver shot across the parking lot road over a concrete barrier into the pillar around 12:45 p.m.
