Flying from Victoria to Whitehorse just got a little easier with the introduction of two new direct flights per week.

Starting May 18, 2018, Air North will begin a Friday afternoon flight direct to Victoria, returning to Whitehorse via Kelowna. On Monday afternoons, the Victoria-bound flight will stop briefly in Kelowna. For a limited time, special introductory fares from Victoria to Whitehorse will start from $188 one-way.

In the past, Air North has done yearly one-off flights between Whitehorse and Victoria for the Thanksgiving weekend and other popular travel times, but this will be the first regular direct flight.

In a press release, Paul Nursey, president and CEO of Tourism Victoria said that the new service is also a chance for Asian travellers “who dream of seeing the Northern Lights to add Victoria to their itineraries,” in addition to giving northerners a chance to see Victoria for more than just its mild climate.
