Whether you’re teeing up a quick nine holes after work or eyeing a full round at one of the region's premier golf courses, Highland Pacific Golf in View Royal offers the ideal getaway, close-to-home.
That welcoming, inclusive approach is at the heart of the 18-hole course – minutes from both downtown Victoria, the West Shore and Saanich – and dubbed the "Victoria's friendliest golf course," says general manager Jeff Palmer.
With a number of new initiatives taking shape over the winter, Palmer is excited to welcome players new and returning to Highland Pacific Golf.
Nine & Dine on Tuesdays and Thursdays is a fan favourite, offering nine holes of golf between 3:30 and 5:30 p.m. followed by dinner in the fully licensed Range Café, all for just $49. "It's a terrific deal – you get to get out and get some exercise in this beautiful setting, then relax afterwards with a great meal," Palmer says.
Before hitting the tee box, take some time to dial in your short game on the expanded putting green, or warm up your swing on the two-tiered driving range – both accessible options for those new to the sport, or trying to improve their game.

While the range is open daily, put a little spring in your weekend plans with Friday Night Lights – hit a bucket of balls at the illuminated driving range, then indulge in a smashburger and a beer, all for just $25!
As a way to make golf more accessible to all members of the family, Highland Pacific has also introduced new forward tees, ideal for those players who may not hit the ball as far, Palmer says. "It's a great want to get more people on the course and to make golf more accessible – that's our whole goal. You can come here and be yourself."
Tucked into the hills between View Royal and Saanich, the 190-acre course offers spectacular forest views of Thetis Lake and Francis King regional parks, along with the snowy peaks of the Olympic Mountain Range. Also home to a variety of wildlife, Highland Pacific is Audubon-certified for environmental excellence. "It's such a great property and the owners really took care in building it," Palmer says.
"People love how beautiful it is, and our terrific staff, but also that it's relaxed – it has its own energy."
No wonder that the course is a favourite destination for those planning special events, as well. In addition to 80-seat banquet space on the lower level of the clubhouse, Highland Pacific also offers an event space popular for weddings and corporate events, with space for up to 150. A beautiful setting for any gathering!
