A driver who was over the legal limit of alcohol flipped his white 2018 Toyota Corolla onto its roof on Nov. 18, according to the West Shore RCMP.

The driver crashed near the Bear Mountain Parkway and Echo Valley Drive. No fatalities were reported, and only received minor injuries.

“This driver is lucky to have walked away from such a serious collision with only minor injuries. With the holiday season upon us, we would like to remind motorists to please plan for a safe ride home,” said Cpl. Nancy Saggar, West Shore RCMP Media Relations Officer.

The driver had provided a sample of his breath into a roadside screening device with a failed result. The RCMP impounded the vehicle for 30 days, and the driver was suspended from driving for 90 days.

The crash involved a single driver and no other cars.
