Crash shuts down Greater Victoria Trans Canada Highway lanes

A large truck could be seen tipped onto its side

Police are responding to a crash involving multiple vehicles on the Trans Canada Highway near the Six Mile Road off ramp.

West Shore RCMP completely shut down the southbound lanes just after 11:30 a.m. on Thursday due to the incident. One southbound lane reopened shortly before 12:30 p.m.

The northbound side of the highway is also down to one lane, police said as they asked for patience while crews respond.

Photos from the scene show a large truck tipped on its side.

Highway cameras showed northbound traffic backed up for several kilometres around noon.
