Revival Beverly Hills, 90210 likely good for ratings, but questionable for overall TV quality

My So-Called Life and Freaks and Geeks tie for best teen-themed show

Vancouver-born Seth Rogen is one of the stars of Freaks and Geeks, one of the two teen-themed dramas that received 100 per cent by Rotten Tomatoes. That show, unlike Beverly Hills, 90210, is unfortunately not getting a revival. (Flickr).

The pending revival of Beverly Hills, 90210, now cast in doubt by the stroke of series star Luke Perry, might goose FOX ratings, but nothing to further the quality of similar-themed shows.

According to Rotten Tomatos, the show never cracked the Top 40 of Teen Drama TV and Streaming Series, a list led by two shows that were (brief) contemporaries of Beverly Hills, 90210 during its initial run between 1990 and 2000: My So-Called Life (1994) starring Claire Danes and Freaks and Geeks (1999) starring a long list of current including Linda Cardellini, Seth Rogen, James Franco and Jason Segel. Both shows received 100 per cent on the ratings aggregater, along with Bunheads

Rounding out the Top 10 are American Vandal, The End of the F***ing World, The Fosters, Friday Night Lights, Veronica Mars, The Nine Lives of Chloe King and 10 Things I Hate About You.
