If you’re looking for a fun, free, family-friendly event, Coastal Community Credit Union has one that may be perfect for you.
Coastal Community Credit Union’s sunset cinema series returns to screens for a sixth year, with an event taking place in Colwood at West Shore Parks and Recreation on July 7. Watch Peter Rabbit on a three storey screen under the stars. The movie starts at dark but don’t forget to arrive early to find a good spot to put down your blankets, pillows or lawn chairs.
No movie is complete without the perfect snack, so bring your own or purchase popcorn, candy, pop, cotton candy or glow sticks from the concession stand. Proceeds support Coastal Community’s young entrepreneurs program. You’ll get a look at what this program does for local students during a trailer before the movie. But for those who can’t attend, the young entrepreneurs program is a school-based initiative that allows students in classrooms across the Island to design their own business and develop their financial and money management skills, all while having fun. Last summer, more than $10,000 was raised to help kids explore the business world. Other screenings will be taking place from July 9 to 13.
