The Songhees Wellness Centre plays host to a West Shore and Esquimalt newcomers welcome event this Saturday (Nov. 26).

Are you a new resident of the West Shore or the Township of Esquimalt?

You’re invited to stop by a newcomer welcoming event at the Songhees Health and Wellness Centre on Saturday (Nov. 26) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Chief Ron Sam will be on hand to welcome all visitors to the event, which is being staged in partnership between the Songhees Nation, West Shore Chamber of Commerce, the Township of Esquimalt and the Victoria Immigrant and Refugee Society.

The gathering offers newcomers a chance to check out the services offered by local governments, non-profit service providers and other community groups, as well as local employment opportunities. Information will be available on local parks, recreation centres and emergency services, plus local events and public activities.

The day will include a special performance by the Songhees Dancers plus other live entertainment and local craft exhibits and sales. For more information or to book an information table, visit //bit.ly/2fPeMco.
