West Shore businesses make Torch Awards finalists

Howie's Car Corral, Market Stores, Thermal King Glass all nominated for annual awards for service by the Better Business Bureau

Howie’s Car Corral is up for the Trustworthiness in the Better Business Bureau’s 2013 Torch Awards.

The West Shore car sellers are up against Victoria businesses Price’s Alarms, Priority 1 Computer Service, TDI Hardwood Floors and Spice of Life Catering in Lantzville in the annual competition.

The Vancouver Island BBB announced the finalists for 2013 on Tuesday.

Over 104 individual companies were nominated for a Torch Award by local consumers and businesses for their commitment to trust, ethics and customer service excellence,” said Rosalind Scott, President & CEO of BBB serving Vancouver Island. “The judges have carefully reviewed the nominations, and the following 50 businesses are in the running to win a 2013 Torch Award for their demonstration of ethical business practices in the marketplace.”

Other West Shore businesses up for awards are the Market Stores (Millstream) in the Community Engagement category and Thermal King Glass in Langford for Ethical Decision Making in the trade and support services.
