Water-saving measures in effect for West Shore

CRD stage 1 water conservation applies until Sept. 30

Stage 1 water conservation is now in effect until Sept. 30.

This means lawn watering is permitted two days per week, with even-numbered addresses allotted Wednesdays and Saturdays. Residents in odd-numbered addresses may water on Thursdays and Sundays. During those days lawns may be watered from 4 to 10 a.m. and from 7 to 10 p.m.

New lawns (sod or seeded) may be watered outside of those parameters with a special permit. For multi-unit properties, the street address applies, not the individual unit number.

Established trees, shrubs, flowers and vegetable gardens may be watered any day, at any time, if the watering is done by a hand-held container, hand-held hose equipped with a shut-off nozzle or a micro/drip irrigation system. They may be watered with a sprinkler any day between 4 to 10 a.m. and 7 to 10 p.m.
