Victoria Grizzlies players and their professional skating coach, Mena Westhaver, are hosting a free skate for children who have never had the opportunity to learn how.

Westhaver skated in the Ice Capades and has been a skating coach for most of her life.

The free skate is being held at the Juan de Fuca Arena on Friday, Feb. 23 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. and the skate rental facility at JDF is providing skates to children for free for the event.

To register, people must have an active WSPR LIFE membership and can access it online at bit.ly/2CkY4cI.

Those who attend the skate will also receive a family pass to the Grizzlies’ home game against the Surrey Eagles on Feb. 25 at 2 p.m.
