The final days of October are dwindling down with Halloween on the horizon.

In the leadup to Oct. 31, the Town of View Royal is hosting a “spooktacular” display contest.

“This is a great way of promoting community within View Royal while celebrating the spooky and fun side of Halloween,” said Coun. Damian Kowalewich in a statement. “The top three spookiest places will receive a gift delivered by a member of council.”

Residents are invited to enter their spooky, haunted and ‘BOO-tiful’ displays in the town’s first spooktacular decorating contest. Nominations are now open for View Royal homes and businesses with the best spider webs, skeletons, goblins, ghouls and more.

To nominate your favourite display, email info@viewroyal.ca, call 250-479-6800, drop the address off at town hall (45 View Royal Ave.) or fill out the online form. Nominations are open until Oct. 26.

Starting Oct. 27, residents can vote for their favourite. A full list of nominated addresses, along with a map so residents can tour the frightful fun, will be available once nominations close.
