Shutter bugs gather in Victoria for global event

Photographers encouraged to bring camera on free walking tour

Fifty or more local photographers, guided by fellow shooter Sandy McElroy, are expected to take part in the annual Worldwide Photo Walk on Saturday (Oct. 13) around downtown Victoria.

Last year’s event saw 30,000 people take part in 1,100 cities around the world. The Victoria walk starts from Centennial Square at 9:30 a.m. and includes Chinatown, the Janion Building, Johnson Street Bridge and Market Square. The tour lasts about three hours and finishes at Golden City restaurant.

The walk is free and open to photographers at any skill level, but registration is recommended.

Participants’ names will be drawn for donated photo-related prizes.
