Rain didn’t dampen cancer fundraiser in Langford

Tour de Rock garage sale and barbecue successful despite weather conditions

Spirits remained high on a rainy Saturday at the Tour de Rock garage sale and barbecue held Aug. 8 at the West Shore RCMP detachment in Langford. The fundraiser brought in about $4,500 for paediatric cancer research and support programs.

The Cops for Cancer Tour de Rock, happening Sept. 20 to Oct. 2, has four riders with local connections, including West Shore RCMP auxiliary constables Nick Brame and Derek Brand, and Military Police Capt. Pam Harris of Langford and Leading Seaman Rodney Carper of Colwood.
