West Shore RCMP are on the lookout for a stolen wall-mount carving taken from a Colwood backyard the day after a garage sale.

The carving, a family heirloom, is of a face carved into bark and stands over three feet tall and one foot wide. It is stained reddish brown and was stolen from a house in the 3000-block of Sunheights Drive on May 11.

Police believe there is a connection between the garage sale and the theft, theorizing the culprit attended the garage sale and then came back later to steal the carving.

“Garage sales are like bird feeders, they do not always attract what we want,” said Sgt. Max Fossum.
