The West Shore community had a chance to get to know the people who serve and protect them as the West Shore RCMP welcomed everyone into their headquarters.
The open house Friday (Aug. 25) featured everything from a charity barbecue to information booths on the detachment’s various specialized units, including the forensics and tactical units.
Demonstrations were also held to showcase the canine team – represented by police dog Luthor – and the motorcycle unit.
The detachment’s Tesla police car was also set up for tours, and a radar speed sign gave kids a chance to see who could get a pedal cart to go the fastest.
The open house aims to help the community get to know their police officers in a positive setting while showcasing the skills they have and the work they do to keep the community safe.
