PHOTOS: Long weekend of fun kicks off at Luxton Fairgrounds in Langford

The Luxton Spring Fair runs Thursday through Sunday

Just in time for the sunny weather and the long weekend, the Luxton Fairgrounds is abuzz once again with flashing lights, joyful screams, and the smell of carnival snacks.

Thursday (May 18) marked the official start of the Luxton Spring Fair and the start of four days of non-stop fun for the whole family.

The Thursday opening is a new tradition which started in 2022 and takes the place of the event’s previous Friday through holiday Monday schedule. Fair organizer Sandy West previously told the Goldstream Gazette the change was made to give fairgoers more flexibility when making long-weekend plans.

It seemed to work, with the fairgrounds bustling just hours after opening Thursday, with small lines starting to form for the most popular rides.

Entry to the grounds remains free each day, with the free antique farm equipment demonstrations, heritage museum, blacksmith demonstrations, and vendor booths opening Saturday and Sunday from noon to 6 p.m.

Midway rides and games will be open from 3 to 10 p.m. on May 18 and 19, and from noon to 10 p.m. on May 20 and 21, weather depending.
