PHOTOS: Centre Mountain Lellum students showcase Salish Sea knowledge with art

An after-school showing Thursday (June 8) let parents take in the display

Centre Mountain Lellum Middle School students put their art skills and their knowledge of the Salish Sea on full display Thursday (June 8).

A room in the school has served as a multimedia art exhibit for the past week, showcasing information write-ups and hand-made art by Grade 6 and 8 students.

The display is the culmination of a partnership between the school and Eagle Wing Tours, which spent time in the classroom teaching students about the Salish Sea and the ecosystem that thrives in it, before taking the students out on a boat tour.

The art pieces, which range from paper mache and duct tape animals, to paintings and even digital pieces, were also made with reused and repurposed materials where possible.
