Do you know incredible people on the West Shore community that go the extra mile? Nominate them for a 2022 Local Hero award!

Nominations are open for the second annual Local Hero Awards and will be open until Jan. 30. As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, and after a year of heat domes, landslides and even snowfall, it’s more important than ever to celebrate the amazing individuals who perform outstanding acts of service in the community.

The Local Hero Awards were made to highlight the powerful stories that make the West Shore community strong. The awards celebrate a wide range of organizations and individuals, in the form of sponsors, partners, nominees and nominators – to honour community heroes.

In 2022, Galaxy Motors/RV and Gablecraft Homes are providing title sponsorships for the returning event. Award sponsors – Millstream Village Mall, Westshore Towing, Victoria Contracting, Cherish, Prosperity Planning and Market on Millstream – have also stepped forward to support the awards. They will be handcrafted by local carver Howard La Fortune.

To nominate, go to hero.goldstreamgazette.com, click Submit a Nomination and follow the directions.
