No tricks, just treats for wicked West Shore locals at Halloween festivities

Hundreds of festive revellers enjoyed Langford's Treat Street and Colwood's annual bonfire

As darkness descended on Halloween night, West Shore communities gathered in their hundreds to bewitch, haunt and celebrate the climax to the spooky season.

In Langford, ghouls, goblins and giraffes grazed on a variety of tasty snacks at the annual Treat Street, presented by the City of Langford and Langford Fire Rescue.

First launched in the ‘80s at the fire hall, the family trick-or-treat experience has evolved over the years to offer a safe and fun Halloween evening on Station Avenue.

Also joining in on the fun was Langford’s pack of furry friends, including Lucas, a five-year-old Pomeranian, who in a ‘jaws-dropping’ shark costume, was more cute than terrifying.

Down the road in Colwood, locals warmed their paws, claws and tentacles by the flames at the Halloween Bonfire hosted by the Colwood Volunteer Firefighters Association.

Dozens of children and parents gathered at the annual enjoy to celebrate a successful night of trick or treating, with a hotdog and hot chocolate by the fire.
