Friday, May 19

Tap Into Your Inner Rhythm keeps the beat going with a drum circle at 7 p.m. at the Metchosin Community House, 4430 Happy Valley Rd. You don’t have to be an experienced drummer to attend this event, and a dozen drums are provided. The cost is $10.

May 27 and 28

All kinds of items are available during the Mighty Garage Sale, which runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days at the Community House. This is the main fundraiser for the Metchosin Community Association, which oversees the venue. Call 250-478-5155 for more information.

Fractal Nature: The Theory of Chaos is the theme for the 33rd edition of Fired Up! The arts event features the work of outstanding ceramists from throughout the region at the Metchosin Community Hall, 4401 William Head Rd. at Happy Valley Road, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
