World renowned cellist Michael Kevin Jones is coming to Metchosin on Friday, April 5 to play a selection of classical works at St. Mary of the Incarnation Church.

Born in Britain, Jones began playing the cello at 13 years old. He studied at the Royal College of Music and in Germany and has performed for the Royal Family. He has toured China, Europe, Australia and the Middle East.

In Metchosin he will be primarily playing selections from Bach’s Cello Suites, which Jones recorded in their entirety in 2002 for the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

 

Tickets for the concert, which is at 7 p.m., are $20 for adults, $15 for seniors and $10 for students with a student card and are available at Metchosin Country Store, Larsen Music, Long & McQuade and at the door.
