Local group looks to raise funds to sponsor a refugee family

Representatives will be at Royal Bay this weekend

The Westshore Refugee Sponsorship Group is looking for the community’s help.

The group is hoping to raise the estimated $40,000 needed to support a family of four for a year, as well as some items and services to help the family settle in.

The Canvas Church is conducting a furniture drive and members of the Sponsorship Group will be at Royal Bay school this weekend for the Creatively United for the Planet festival.

Donations can also be made through wrsg.ca or the Church of Advent. Tax receipts will be provided.
