The West Shore community is filled with so many unsung heroes who make life better for us every single day.

Do you know one of them? Then here’s your chance to turn “unsung” into singing their praises in a public way.

You can nominate them for a 2023 Local Hero award!

Nominations are now open for the third-annual Local Hero Awards and will be open until Feb. 2. 2023.

The West Shore has been through another wild year of events, culminating in a near-blizzard. It’s vital to celebrate the amazing individuals who perform outstanding acts of service in the community.

The Local Hero Awards were designed to highlight the powerful stories that make the West Shore community strong.

The awards celebrate a wide range of organizations and individuals, in the form of sponsors, partners, nominees and nominators – to honour community heroes.

So it’s time for you to get involved and shine a light on these deserving heroes.

In 2023, Galaxy Motors/RV and Gablecraft Homes are providing title sponsorships for the returning event. Award sponsors – Millstream Village Mall, Westshore Towing, Victoria Contracting, Cherish, Prosperity Planning and Market on Millstream – have also stepped forward to support the awards. They will be handcrafted by local carver John Bellis.
